Navigating the international protection application process can be complex and overwhelming, especially for individuals seeking asylum in Ireland. At Court Assist, we provide an experienced, private, fee-based service designed to help applicants structure and organise their submissions and supporting documents. While we do not represent applicants in a legal capacity or submit documents to the IPO/IPAT on their behalf, our experienced consultants can assist applicants with the preparation and presentation of their case to ensure clarity and professionalism, leading to better outcomes.
Who Is This Service For?
Our service is specifically available to asylum seekers who are not currently in receipt of legal representation or legal aid and are privately funding their international protection applications or appeals.
If you already have a legal advisor or are receiving legal aid, we recommend that you continue working with your appointed representative.
How We Can Help:
1. Drafting Assistance for International Protection Applications:
The initial application stage is critical for outlining your case clearly and providing adequate supporting evidence. We assist with:
Document Organisation: Helping you collate and structure supporting materials, such as personal statements, medical reports, country of origin information, and other supporting evidence.
Submission Structuring: Ensuring your written submissions are coherent, well-organised, and focused on the key points relevant to your claim.
Section 35 Interview Preparation: Assisting with preparing responses to expected interview questions.
We help you present your personal history, reasons for seeking asylum, and supporting evidence in a clear and logical way. We also provide guidance on the structure and tone of your statements to align with the expectations of the International Protection Office (IPO).
2. Assistance with IPAT Appeals:
If you have received a negative decision from the IPO, you may wish to appeal to the International Protection Appeals Tribunal (IPAT). This stage requires precise documentation and clear arguments. This is also an extremely time-sensitive matter which must be completed within a matter of days. We assist with:
Compiling Appeal Documents: Organising supporting materials, including additional evidence or clarification of existing documentation.
Drafting Submissions: Assisting you in writing an appeal statement that addresses the reasons for the IPO’s negative decision, focusing on errors or overlooked evidence.
Organising Forms and Attachments: While we cannot submit your appeal for you, we help ensure your forms and supporting documents are correctly completed and assembled for submission.
What We Do Not Do:
It is important to note the boundaries of our service:
No Legal Advice or Representation: We do not provide legal advice, represent you at the IPO or IPAT, or advocate on your behalf.
No Document Submission: We do not submit applications, appeals, or supporting materials to the IPO for you and can not contact them on your behalf either.
Non-Legal Role: Our support is administrative and structural, focused on helping you articulate your case effectively.
Why Choose Court Assist?
Our extensive familiarity with the international protection process allows us to provide tailored assistance that meets procedural requirements. We help you organise your materials and submissions to make your case as clear and compelling as possible.
Our service is discreet and tailored to meet your individual needs.
Important Information:
Timeliness Is Key: Applications and appeals must be submitted within strict deadlines. Ensure you are aware of the specific timeframes for your case to avoid delays or procedural obstacles.
Legal Aid Alternatives: If you qualify for legal aid, you may be entitled to free legal representation through organisations such as the Legal Aid Board or Refugee Legal Service.
